Gawdy Enough?

Jeez. If this isn’t the busiest piece of Bloggsville now, I don’t know what is. And if you haven’t figured out how persnickety I am, you’re about to find out. It’s not just about three columns.

It’s the font, and the colors.

And I can tell you right now, that this thing is screaming at me. Do you have ANY idea how hard it is going to be for me to write here? There’s nothing soft about it at all.

Crap.

Good thing I work for cheap, right?

It’s dinnertime and there’s no dinner. So I’m heading downstairs to whip something up for us and watch American Noodle with the MoH who just got home.

In the meantime, I sure hope you like red. Oh, and claustrophobic columns.

But at least I get to see your smiling icon-type gravatar thingys again, which makes me smile.

Until tomorrow…

  1. well i likes it….

  2. (continued from my comment on your last post..)

    but apparently you don’t…

I do particularly like the header a lot though.

    SB

  3. I like it fine. If only…one day the perfect theme appears.

  4. Melissa

It looks very professional…like The New Yorker web
site.. but I do miss kitty…

  5. paisley, coming from you, I’m feeling better. Your site is sooooooooooo perfect all the time. I am just not patient enough to get everything lined up the way I want it to be, so tolerate it.

Scott, thanks! I like making headers, and not too long ago, I downloaded a bunch of interesting fonts just to play around with. This is one of them. I actually found a “cat alphabet” if you can believe it! I’ll get used to the space. It just feels different.

Cooper, can you please let me know when that day is? At this point, I can actually say I’d sit in a classroom to learn. I read through the codex which is great, but Jeez it takes soooooooo long to figure it all out.

Hey Melissa, the kitty is coming back. I’m loading widgets and plugins slowly because I was having trouble since the last upgrade. So look for him soon!

  6. Oooh, fancy!!

So, did you see Paula’s derailment last night? That was the greatest thing I’ve ever seen on that show. Besides Michael Johns, of course.

  7. OMG! How can she sit there and not pay attention? It was HILARIOUS! And I thought she was at least sort of tuned in this year. JEEZ! Wait. I thought you liked Michael Johns…No?

  8. I too think the new banner is really cool. All professional and such :).

  9. Thanks, Francis! I appreciate your artistic eye. I love messing around with photoshop and each time I make a header, I learn something new.

  10. Ritzy

I like your picture and the swirly letters. Well done. Don’t work too hard on it – at least not without wine in hand!

What was up with Paula last night screwing up so badly. Or a second I thought it was me that had too much wine! I am crossing my toes my MainSqueeze Jason isn’t booted off tonight. I totally dig DavidRocker though. I am calling him the Idol… he rocks.

Hope everything else is good in Paradise! Now that we have an offer I can catch up on my blog & photos again! Keep your fingers crossed for us!

  11. Hey Ritzy — I keep meaning to put you in my sidebar and then get distracted. Some friend, huh? I was hoping you’d get an offer after all that traffic you mentioned. w00t! It’ll come through and then I’ll hope for a 30-day escrow.

As far as AI goes…I’m thinking your hunkey boy just doesn’t want to be on anymore. Who knows what’s on his agenda, but he’s got no spark. We want David the Rock Star to win. He deserves it.

  12. Wow, this is a different look. I like it. I don’t know why I’m surprised though. You do such a steller job of coming up with new designs for your site.

I still have this wishful dream that I will one day do a complete redesign of my site. Something way out there but alas, I continually hire my talents out to others. Oh well…

Nice indeed. And oh yeah, I’m still contending for Jason. He’s been a slacker the last two weeks but I know he’ll make a come back.

  13. really? I kinda like the scripty blue way your name is written on top….

  14. Hey Phil! Good to see you. Been busy, huh? Thanks for liking “it.” I’ve been experimenting with contrasting fonts lately and having fun with photoshop. Talk about wasting time? The hours fly by. As far as hiring your talents out to others goes, is it anything like teaching other people’s children? *sigh* And looks like you were right about Jason. We’ll see what he does from here on…I’m rooting for David Cook.

Hey meleah — it’s growing on me. It isn’t that I don’t like the font. I think it’s more about the red or the balance of things. I’m a freak. What can I say?
