Day 6: Off to physical therapy for the first time Day 6: Off to physical therapy for the first time post op. Stitches were supposed to come out the day before but the surgeon cancelled. Rescheduled for the next day. Brace locked until then.

Coffee in bed served daily courtesy of my husband Coffee in bed served daily courtesy of my husband who slept on an air mattress downstairs for a week. Not quite the way life should be, but so thankful to have his support and care.

The surgery is fairly quick and the nerve block co The surgery is fairly quick and the nerve block combined with oxycodone for a couple of days made the pain very tolerable. Exercises begin immediately. You have to move that leg.

I finally had my ACL reconstructed. It’s been a I finally had my ACL reconstructed. It’s been a long year of physical therapy, surgery to repair the damaged meniscus, more physical therapy, delays caused by Covid-19, and finally, the choice to delay surgery to enjoy late summer.
